Rome 2024 Part 3

On this day we went to the Villa Borghese. We love this park and were super excited to take the kids. It was rainy on/off all day and to be honest I love this type of weather because it means even less crowds.

After walking to the park we stopped at a cafe for some drinks

Me and Dan have fond memories of renting a bike in this park and couldn’t wait to rent one with the kids. We rented it for an hour and drove around as much as we could before we had to go to the museum.

I have a lot of love for all art museums but this one, The Galleria Borghese, is Dan’s favorite out of all of them. This is also the one that sells out and is hard to get tickets if you wait until the last minute so I set my calendar and an alarm when tickets went on sale.

So many beautiful sculptures

I am always impressed for being a smaller museum all the unique artwork it holds

We took a train ride throughout the park

After the park we went inside the Pantheon. It used to be free to go but now you pay 5 Euros

Gelato always

We walked around and of course landed back at the Turtle Fountain

Dinner

I created a monster and Logan ordered the clam pasta everywhere we went to eat for dinner lol

Love the after drinks the provide everywhere in Rome

The line was finally short so we got Tiramisu from one of our favorite spots

The kids really liked it

After we got the kids settled for the night me and Dan went for a walk

Hello, dear Colosseum

The Triton Fountain is my very favorite fountain in all of Rome. We always make sure to visit it on all of our trips to Rome. I can’t exactly place or explain why it is my favorite but there is something majestic about it for me

We even stopped for a drink to enjoy the view some more

A stop at the Trevi Fountain is always a must on a late night walk

Love how empty the Pantheon was at night compared to when we were just there in the afternoon

The next day we signed up the kids to Gladiator School

They learned a lot about gladiators and then did some gladiator training.

After the training they had a tournament to earn their “freedom”

There were only 2 other families with us and they did a good job with the tournament

Everyone earned their freedom and Logan’s Roman name became Invictus and Dylan’s was Spartacus

I didn’t think they would like it as much as they did but it was definitely a highlight for both kids

We then walked to get lunch. The past nights this place had a long line and Dylan suggested we go for lunch. Very smart thinking from him because there was no line and we got seated right away

Everything was delicious!

And then of course more gelato for dessert lololol

At night we had a family food tour planned

So many delicious eats

This fried fish with their white wine was my favorite

As we know I love graffiti art

This was the boys favorite spot, 2 delicious pastas

Our tour ended with yummy gelato

Walking back to the hotel we spotted more graffiti

Loved how the store doors were decorated. Not sure if the owners approved but I enjoyed seeing how unique and creative they all were
