Paris Day 3

This day was exactly why we planned our trip mid July for Bastille Day. We went a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it! We were way too hungover last time to see the flyover and this year while we were slightly hungover we did make it in time to see the flyover from the Tuileries gardens. Thank goodness our hotel is a 5 min walk because that’s the only way we made it lol

I took a video and since I haven’t figured out how to add videos I took a screen shot to post. Loved seeing the flyover and what a site!

I then made Dan walk around with me and I forgot how much I love seeing their metro stations entrances. I wish more cities decorated a couple like this one but this was really pretty and unique up close.

I am OBSESSED with these columns and visit them every chance I get. They are my favorite thing to see and do besides the obvious Eiffel Tower and Musee D’Orsay. Since it is super close to the hotel we always book, I love stopping by everyday! On this day I was surprised to see it so empty and of course took advantage and took lots of pictures.

On our walk back to the hotel they had this rice ball takeout Japanese restaurant. It’s new from when I last came and it was never without a line! It was right across the street from our hotel so I kept telling myself I would go when the line was short, it was never short lolol. On this day though, there was no line! I couldn’t believe it so I ran in and while I wanted one of each, knowing that Dan doesn’t eat fish I only got 1. It was AMAZING!!!

I sat in our hotel lobby to fully enjoy it and it did not disappoint! I had it a couple of more times during our stay because during random hours they would have a short line so I did end up tasting almost all of their flavors. What a great restaurant that they put there and I hope it is there next time we go to Paris.

We visited Sainte-Chapelle this day and it was amazing! I love stained glass windows and this was just so breathe taking.

I love a good scary, narrow, and worn in staircase

On our walk back to the hotel we stopped by the Notre Dame, always a delight to see it. Someone mentioned they might have it opened next year for the Olympics and I hope they are right because I would love to go in there again.

Hi

Dan always gets me in his candids lol

On our walk along the Seine, I always enjoy checking out the random street vendors and love seeing their pins. My oldest and I collect them so it was a lot of fun picking both of us some and I even got a free pin (the Normandie one) while browsing! People are so nice sometimes 🙂

We then rested for a couple of hours and had a quick bite before we made our way over to the park to see the fireworks for Bastille Day. The line into the park was super long compared to last time, but it moved fast! You couldn’t bring in alcohol into the park but you could bring food and water which of course we did. It was so nice to have a picnic while waiting for the fireworks.

AHHHHH it begins!

I have heard in passing how the Eiffel Tower is overrated and I will never not have my jaw drop at that statement because to me it is an iron beauty with engineering genius that I can never wrap my head around. I could stare at it all day and night!

The music this year that went along the fireworks wasn’t as great as when we went a couple of years ago but the firework show was just as good.

This time we didn’t sit in the main grass area since we did arrive late so we found seats on the side and I still loved the view.

Again, love a good firework show

The grand finale is always a sight to see!

It was an amazing day and we finished it off by walking back to our hotel with a stop at a bar for a couple of drinks. I sometimes wonder where my tolerance goes when on vacation because I definitely drink a lot more and don’t feel as sick the next day only encouraging me to drink more.
