Packing Part #1

We leave for Italy this weekend and like always I leave my packing until the last minute. I make a mental list in my head and pick out outfits mentally but this time Dan said to actually lay out my outfits. He laid everything out already and took pictures of his daily outfits but I like to just throw on whatever I feel like that day. I feel bad stressing him out because of my lack of packing when he is all done so here is my effort to pack. I sweat a lot and the main downside of traveling in the summer it is so hot but it is the only time we can really travel. Having 3 kids I don’t want them to miss school during the school year so summer is the only time we can go to Europe and not feel like the kids are missing anything important. Thankfully, I have an awesome mom that is flying in and watching the kids and I have great friends who have scheduled playdates and car pool rides so the kids will still get to attend their camps and activities.

Anyways, back to packing. I am packing a lot of dresses and a couple pair of shorts and 1 pair of pants. For some reason I always end of regretting not packing a pair of pants so I am packing one pair. I am also packing 3 pairs of shoes and buying a new pair in Italy. I love the Superga brand so I want to make sure I buy my newest pair there in hopes they have more variety than here. My dad always said to only wear shoes you can run away in so I am packing some slip on sandals, wedge heels, and my Plae slip on sneakers. I sometimes wish I was more comfortable just doing my laundry in a foreign country and I have done it before but I found it to be a little bit of a hassle getting the soap and finding a Laundromat and then waiting for the clothes to be done when I could be sight seeing instead. I also don’t want to pay extra for the hotel to do it so my suitcase will be filled to the brim. I always pack another bag to put clothes in when I am heading home as another carry on so I am not too worried about not having room for my souvenirs.

Ever since I got my kids Plae shoes I have been obsessed with them too. They raved about them and I finally got a pink pair last year and they are my most comfortable and worn pair! I saw these gold ones and figured I would get them for the trip and have broken them in the past month around the house and are super comfortable now too. .
Can you tell pink is my favorite color?

These are the finalists! I am going to leave about a quarter of these outfits but I like hanging them up to see what I really like and what I will wear. I will probably add and take away stuff throughout the week and then pack on Friday night. I have had great luck in always packing the exact outfits I need so I am not too worried about over packing and the only thing I am debating is bringing both hats or just one.

It is funny that most of my outfits are from Amazon, Target, and H&M. I have become real boring as I get older and in reality mainly get my clothes from Costco and Amazon. Now that I can return clothes at stores for free on Amazon I see myself buying from there more and more. I really just like to be super comfortable and since I don’t feel as cute as I did when I was younger loose fitting stuff is right up my alley. Once I am not running around with the kids so much I do plan to shop more locally and buy more from small shops. Until then though, easy, quick fashion is what works.

Hoping to narrow down my trip outfits soon so I can move on to my toiletries. I love packing those and my makeup because they are easy lolol.
